SoilCarbon4Climate – Pathways for Soil Carbon in Temperate Regions
September 11–13, 2025 | Conference Centre Mauerstrasse 27, Berlin, Germany

We are pleased to announce the SoilCarbon4Climate Conference, which will also serve as the first-ever “4 per 1000” Regional Meeting for temperate climates.

Hosted by the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture, and co-organized by the international “4 per 1000” Initiative and the Federal Humus Programme of Germany, this event will bring together scientists, policymakers, practitioners, and stakeholders from across the temperate climate zone.

The conference aims to facilitate dialogue, share knowledge, and promote effective strategies to increase and maintain soil organic carbon (SOC). Enhancing SOC is a critical component in climate change mitigation and resilience. As many actors in temperate regions face similar agroecological challenges, this gathering offers a unique opportunity to foster cross-border collaboration and innovation.

Key highlights include:

  • Presentations and panel discussions with leading experts

  • Interactive workshops and networking opportunities

  • Field excursions to demonstration farms near Berlin

  • A focus on practical solutions and stakeholder engagement

Pre-registration and Call for Abstracts are now open until June 1, 2025.
